Have you thought about the reason that marketing just feels so hard??

With hundreds of different methods and ideas out there, why are you working against yourself to create a marketing plan.

Marketing starts even before you send your first email, create your first product, it starts within you.

I believe that most new practitioners and coaches, jump in to the middle of creating their new business without a thought. They can see that Joan Smith is attracting a lot of clients by doing XYZ, but why is that working for Joan?

Real Marketing doesn’t start until you are very clear on just what it is you desire to accomplish.

I do agree that some people just know what that is, but for most everyone else that is not the case. They know what the end goal is, but not how to accomplish it with ease.

Here is where you need to begin, take a piece of paper and create 2 columns.

What are your greatest strengths?

Look at past job experiences, look at past volunteer experiences, look at your family life, look at the things you spend your free time on, look at your hobbies?

Ask 3-5 family members, friends, a coach/mentor, ask them what 3 attributes or skills they believe are your strongest.

Combine this list together to get the top 5 strengths.

Write these down in one column.

Now write down all the marketing ideas/strategies that you can think of in the second column.

Now the fun begins, match all the marketing ideas with the skills. So for example “speaking skills” would match with “seminars, classes, workshops”. As you are thinking about the pairing between the activity and the skill, what things really feel like they would be fun? What ones feel they would be really easy to do?

From this list you will come up with at least 6 different things that you feel great about doing. THIS is where to start your marketing! The trick to marketing is not that you do a hundred different things, it is that you do a number of things (6-12) CONSISTENTLY!

Do the things you love and people will feel that and be more attracted to you and your message.
